Each uncoated tablet contains :
Ambroxol Hydrochloride I.P. 30 mg
Guaiphenesin I.P. 200 mg
Torex tablet is an effective combination that works to relieve cough miseries. It contains combination of Ambroxol Hydrochloride which is a mucolytic agent and Guaiphenesin which is an expectorant.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that helps to thin and loosen mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up the mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that affects a certain part of the brain (cough center), reducing the urge to cough. Ambroxol Hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent used in the treatment of respiratory disorders associated with viscid or excessive mucus.
Asthmatic cough, whooping cough, post-surgical cough, dry cough, smoker’s cough, chronic cough.
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product.
Dizziness, headache, nausea, nervousness, or trouble sleeping may occur.
Do not use a cough or cold medicine if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine within the past 14 days. Serious, life-threatening side effects can occur if you take cough or cold medicine before the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body.
PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: breathing problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema), diabetes, glaucoma, heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney problems, hyperthyroidism, trouble urinating (e.g., due to enlarged prostate).
This drug may make you dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.
